Clean tones are overrated! This pack is a collection of go-to sounds meant to get you into the zone quickly: wobbly pads, ultra-punchy tape snares, grainy textures, squashed drum overheads with crunchy spring verb – a bold color palette of sonic vibes to paint with. Created by Los Angeles-based producers Efajemue & Shankar Tucker, everything was recorded and processed with vintage gear, from analog synths and modular grooves to warm tape delays and spring reverbs.
We started with 5 different drum kits, each played with a different groove, tempo, and mic setup, so every kit has its own tone and feel. From this foundation, we built up supporting instrumentals and textures from analog synths and basses, pedals, outboard effects and tube amps. We then processed the drums further for a mix of dry and hybrid tones: everything from raw mics to fully saturated and mix-ready beats. There’s lots to play around with in this singular collection, from unusual tempos and time signatures (70 BPM up to fast 6/8), washy indie grooves, modular percussion loops, colorful one-shots and psychedelic dreamy layers.
