Portraits of Home is a collection of sounds recorded during a period of transition, a move from Nicaragua to Costa Rica. It captures the textures of two places, blending domestic objects and natural environments into music and instruments.
Each sound was created from everyday objects found while packing or unpacking a home. Old fans, wine glass, hair ties, oven doors, the hum of a refrigerator, etc. Combined with ambiences and field recordings captured across beaches, forests, volcanoes, and rainstorms in both countries. These recordings were tuned, processed, and shaped to become playable elements: basses, textures, percussion, synths and more.
The pack is designed for musicians and producers who want to build unique sounding instruments and atmospheres from real world sources. Every sound can be used directly or transformed through samplers, stretching, or layering, allowing new instruments and compositions to emerge from organic material.
It reflects a journey of movement, adaptation, and discovery — turning the sound of home and nature into something new.
